Student Equipment Grant 2011

Nortek B.V. is soliciting innovative proposals from graduate or PhD students for the third annual Nortek equipment loan & travel fund grant. Students interested in measuring currents or waves in the ocean, estuary, lake or laboratory are encouraged to apply. At least one individual award will be made to outstanding graduate or PhD students involved in any discipline of oceanography, ocean engineering or hydrology. Projects with innovative measurement concepts or extra challenges are especially encouraged. The award recipient will receive a Nortek Aquadopp, Aquadopp Profiler, HR Profiler, AWAC, Vector, Vectrino, Qliner or H-ADCP for a 3 month deployment as well as € 1.000,= to be used for travel to a European Conference to present scientific results from the project. All proposals are due by 1st of June 2011 and the awards will be issued by 1st of July 2011. |

The grant is open for students studying on an institute or university in the Netherlands, Belgium, Netherlands Antilles or Suriname.
Award Details:
The € 1.000 grant is intended to be used to cover travel expenses to a European conference to present results from the project. The money will be payable upon abstract acceptance in a suitable conference. Students must acknowledge Nortek B.V. in any presentation and publication resulting from data collected with the Nortek equipment. Data collected with Nortek equipment may be shared with Nortek B.V. for development and marketing purposes.
