New HR release
We are pleased to announce the release of a new HR-Aquadopp firmware and software version. The release includes an option for extended velocity range, for using only a user-specied number of beams and an improved burst mode. The release has full support for 2 MHz units while the 1 MHz version is still in beta.
The HR-Aquadopp is an optional firmware version of the 2 MHz Aquadopp profiler. It operates in "pure-coherent" mode, which is a special form of Doppler processing suitable for high resolution measurements over a short profiling range. The most common applications areas are bottom boundary layers, lake measurements, and slow flowing estuaries and marshes.
The new release includes an option for extended range which can potentially increase the velocity measurement range by a factor of 3. The new ability to reduce the number of beams from the standard 3 means that it is possible to maximize the spatial/temporal resolution in 1- or 2-beam applications.
