Reading / opening a file from prf

Posted by Laura Finlay at August 08. 2011

Hello, I have files in the .prf format and have tried to convert them via the Prof2NDP converter but when they have been converted they are unreadable. Am i converting them into the wrong format, and if so how do i specify what they should be converted to? Or should i then convert them from this .aqd to something else? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi Laura,

The *.prf file should be an HR Profiler data file. Please download the Aquadopp HR software and try converting it.

Hi PJ,

Many thanks for your advice. I have downloaded this software and have tried to convert files via this method and it gives me files in the following format: excel, dat, hdr, pics, v3, a1, a2, a3, sen, ssl, v1 and v2. None of which are .aqd. However, i am concerned that this is not appropriate for my adcm aquadopp profiler as the software is for the HR Profiler.

Im sorry for taking your time with this but i would really appreciate any help.

Kind regards.

Hi Laura,

Sorry about that. Please download the most recent Aquadopp software from our website. I don't use the standard Aquadopp Profiler and didn't realize it and the HR Profiler share a file extension.

*.aqd files belong to an Aquadopp single point current meter so you won't see a file with this extension if you are using an Aquadopp profiler.

Hi PJ

Many thanks for your information. i am actually using both a aquadopp current meter and an aquadopp profiler. Are there any user manuals of documents available for using the software?

Many thanks, Laura

Hi Laura,

The instrument manuals are available in the software via the help dialog. They are also available for download at http://www.nortek-as.com/en/support/manuals

If there are question not covered by these - please tell me.

Best regards

Jonas Røstad
