Communication to HR profiler and clock set

Hello,

I am working with a 2MHz Aquadopp HR Profiler and encountered already twice a problem with the data communication between device and computer.

Prelude:

I measured with the 2Mhz Aquadopp HR profiler for 1 week and retrived the data without any problems.

As I connected the 2Mhz Aquadopp HR Proflier to the computer two days later in order to set and download another  delpoyment data.

I was able to connect, and to retrive an exisiting delpoyment file from the device, but as soon as I wanted to start my delpoyment, retrive data or erase the recorder, I get an error message "unable to set clock"(in case of starting an deployment) and "acknowledge not recieved" (in the other cases).

We tried then to set the clock from hand which did not work.

Then we thought it might be a hardware problem, which is why we tried it with a fixed elecrticty connection, with full batteries,  with a different  data cable and with another computer, which all seemed not to work.

Oddly the first time this problem appeard in the field we transported the device back in the lab were we tested it again(2 days after the previous test) and it worked flawless.

I checked the form in, but could not find previous encouters with this problem.

Did you encoutner this problem already or know what the reason could be ?

Hi Christian,

Pleas upgrade your firmware and software to the newest available.

We saw this sometimes when the midlife main boards were newly developed. The problem was related to timing between software and firmware.

During the past years both software and firmware has been refined and this timing issue is long gone.

If this doesn't help, please tell me. It might be that there is something with the com port of your PC as well.
