Command failed when stopping instrument

I recently experienced a problem when playing with ADV vectors. For field work, I had to change the computer dedicated to adv deployments...

I installed vector as usuall, and made the test for communication, all perfect. Next I started an online measurement, with success....but when came the time to stop it...it failed and sent me the folowwing warning message:

command failed, break failed, acknowledgment not received.

To stop the adv, I have to move to the computer that I usually use and stop it. I tried 3 other laptops...with all the same problem.  All OS are windows XP, and all with vector 1.21.

Any idea?  Any conflict with XP updates?

Try increasing the timeout in the Serial Port dialog (Communication menu).

Thanks for your reply. The solution was in the serial port configuration as you suggested : I had to tick off the hard break box.
