Question regarding polysync syncronisation with homemade acquisition software

Geplaatst door Guillaume Dubois op August 31. 2011

Hello

I use 5 Vectrinos (field probes) to measure the flow in an hydroelectric powerplant inlet.  I want to compare the results with stardard current meters (OTT).  The data acquisition is done and syncronised with Polysync; vectrino 1 is the master (SYNC_MASTER=1) and the others sample on sync (START_ON_SYNC and SAMPLE_ON_SYNC=1).  I also measures lots of other parameters (turbine power, pressure, gross head, etc.) with an homemade software written in Lab View.  Now, I want to look at the vectrino datas (converted to XYZ and then dump to Matlab) syncronised in time with the other parameters recorded with my homemade software.  The software to dump the CSV files to Matlab is completed.  The only thing remaining is a simple way to know the exact moment I press "data recording" in Polysync in my other acquisition software.  I though of the Synch- and Synch+ on the vectrino cables.  Is one of those output send a pulse or something when the data recording starts (from Polysync)?  Thanks

Guillaume

Dear Guillaume,

Please have a look at the description of how the synchronization works in the system integrator manual found at http://www.nortek-as.com/en/support/application-development

I think this will answer your question, if not please tell me.

Best regards

Jonas Røstad
