vectrino with car battery

Geplaatst door Òscar Guadayol op December 16. 2010

Hi,

I need to power a vectrino with a 12V car battery. I have a cable with Synch in/out. Could you provide some technical advice as how this should be safely done? Do you sell any cable to flying lead adapter?

Thanks,

òscar

Hi Òscar,

The Vectrino needs a minimum of 15 V to operate (refer to page 11 of the current Vectrino manual for the power requirements) so just the 12V battery won't work. You could use two batteries wired in series to create a 24V cell or obtain an AC/DC inverter and use the power supply that comes with the Vectrino. For wiring it, I would suggest obtaining another plug like what is already used for power and building a harness to connect this to your chosen power supply. If you go with something where a short is possible (such as a car battery) I would recommend putting a fuse in the wiring just in case.
